HOW TO PREPARE YAM PORRIDGE

INGREDENTS

  • one kg(2.2ibs) white puna yam
  • one tables spoon of grounded crayfish
  • one medium onion
  • red palm oil(to colour)
  • fresh green vegetables (e.g pumpkin leaves,scent leaves)
  • pepper and salt (to taste)
  • stock cubes

PROCEDURES

  • peel yam and cut into medium or tiny sizes and place in a pot
  • wash onions and slice into tiny or medium sizes
  • grind or blend the pepper and keep in a clean empty bowl
  • wash and cut fish into medium sizes and put aside1513384386170
  • pour enough water in a pot and  place sliced yam in it and start cooking at medium heat temperature to heat
  • when the yams are boiled, add onions,ground crayfish,pepper, palm oil, fish and stock cubes.
  • cover pot and continue cooking until yam is done
  • add salt to taste and stir very well, then cook at high heat for about 5 minutes
  • add the green vegetables for about 5 minutes . food is done
